Welcome to Catholic University! This is a very exciting time for you and your family. The next couple of months will go by very quickly and soon you will be taking your place as a student at Catholic University. Here at CUA you will develop yourself, shaping your intellect and learning to accept the challenges of a committed citizen who serves others. We hope that you will challenge yourself and lead others, taking responsibility for your CUA experience and making it everything you have dreamed. All of this starts with Orientation.
Orientation 2025 is scheduled to begin with move-in on Thursday, August 21 and conclude on Sunday, August 24. Sessions for families will conclude on the evening of Friday, August 22. This four-day orientation program is designed to address basic transitional needs and provide you with an understanding of student services and resources. A more detailed schedule will be posted here later in the summer.
Registration for Orientation opened on May 1, 2025. Please register by August 1. Detailed instructions for how to register through Cardinal Students are available in the Student & Family Guide. All academic information you may need to know regarding class registration, and course selection advice can be found on the Incoming Students page on the Center for Academic and Career Success website.
Additional Orientation sessions will be offered for International Students, First Generation College Students, and Students with disabilities prior to Orientation. Please contact these offices for more information.

Over the course of the spring and summer you will receive information from Orientation and other University offices and you will be enrolled in our online orientation program called “Becoming A Cardinal” that will begin in June. Please review each item carefully for deadlines. The Catholic University of America is preparing for your arrival and we are ready to address your questions and assist with your transition.
